Tamela Staubs: An Experienced Florida Realtor Who Loves Finding Customers Their Dream Homes

1. Be yourself – but introduce yourself and tell us who you are right away. Show us the fun personality.

Teaching and Guiding come easily and naturally for me. This shows in many areas of my life. My passion shines through when coaching buyers and sellers through their real estate transactions (many give video and written testimonials) as well as guiding yogis through their yoga practice on the mat or suspended in air for aerial yoga. Typically the yogis compliment my calming voice during guided meditation and I tend to blush (I love when they drift off to sleep). Making people smile and volunteering as a mermaid at local events is another one of my passion projects. Living in Florida affords me the opportunity to enjoy the year-round warm climate and you will typically find me admiring live music at a local venue. Don't be surprised if I know the musicians by name since many of them are personal friends.

2. Are you married? Do you have children? How many? Boy / Girl / both? If no children, pets?

I have one beautiful daughter that has grown into an independent and successful young lady. As you can tell I am very proud of her.

3. What do you do for work? How long have you been doing it?

Real Estate is my Full-Time career/Business for over 20 years. A lot has changed over the years which is wonderful for a lifelong learner - like me.

4. How did you get into the industry?

I purchased my home in Florida and decided I could help each customer have the very best real estate experience possible. I didn't know anyone in Florida when I moved to Boynton Beach from Northern Virginia. I successfully listed 5 properties in my first 4 weeks applying the principles each of my mentors suggested. I simply did what they told me to do.

5. Have you ever received any awards? If so, please list.

Yes, many. Women's Council of Realtor's Honor circle, I was with RE/MAX for several years and received 2 Presidents' awards, 2 100% Awards, and 5 Executive Awards.

6. What sets you apart from your competition?

Tenacity, Professionalism, seeing everyone as a team member, working toward a common goal for the buyer and seller with a thirst for knowledge.

7. Where are you having the most of your success in your business?

Relationships - people tend to meet me...they form a natural bond....they easily know, like, and trust me...I honor and value their trust.

8. Where are you having the most pain or where are you finding most of your challenges in the market?

Administrative duties. Keeping my database updated and staying in contact with my CRM. I hired someone to call my entire database and I am not confident I hired the right person. I know the statistics and I could have 10 deals (at least) from my CRM if I nurtured it correctly. May website and SEO are the other areas I need help with.

9. Do you have a goal for how many families you want to helo in the coming year?

50

10. What are your 3 non-negotiables in your business or personal relationships?

Honesty (even if it is painful), returning call/text/email (communication), and be your word...don't over-promise....over-deliver instead.

11. If you could change anything about the mortgage process, what would it be?

Get rid of pre-qualification completely. Verbal is useless.

12. What are your passions, accomplishments, talent, and/or hobbies?

I over-shared those in number 6...Yoga, aerial yoga, live music, festivals, being a mermaid, being on the water/beach, I really think my biggest accomplishments are...successfully raising a daughter for 10 years as a single Mom during a downturned real estate market with no family or friends helping and still being in the real estate business for 20 years with very little guidance or mentors (self-made/self-taught).

13. List three interesting facts about yourself.

Grew up on 10 acres of land 30 minutes from the grocery store (no interest in ever doing that again, lol) with 2 lions as neighbors, drove a race car at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and one skydive jump.

14. What’s on your bucket list?

Make $500,000 annually and then double it to $1,000,000 (I truly believe I have the ability and knowledge...I need to bump into the right guidance). Thinking about getting my Pilot's license, traveling to Italy, spending one month in Bali, owning 10 rental properties (again...), and get my daughter into Real Estate.

15. What do you do in your spare time?

In the summer, I love to go to the beach. In the winter, I enjoy art festivals and live music as much as possible. Year-round I like to spend time with my daughter and kayak.
